When I was brainstorming blog post ideas a month ago, one of the ideas was to write about getting to know a new place, and talking about the places I love to go to write.
And then the world shut down only a few weeks after I moved into my new apartment, so I barely had time to get to become familiar with the area. I know there’s a library a couple buildings down, which I look forward to frequenting once it has reopened. Right now, my world exists of something like 500 square feet. My office every day is my pick of one of three barstools at my counter. My movie theater is my TV. My library and bookstore are my bookshelves.
It’s rather odd to be so aware of how much your world has shrunk—and so quickly, too.
Perhaps another time I can go out and explore the neighborhood a bit more and share with you someday that perhaps I found the perfect little corner of the library to go and write, or how I found a farmer’s market nearby. I’m not really sure what my new neighborhood will have to offer. But for now, I’ll be content making worlds within my little apartment and finding a little hygge along the way.
